    The HO is our Chief of Party person and runs the operations show. The HO will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business including processes, reporting, improvements, and personnel. The HO will be responsible for improving the productivity of the company, and will manage employees, be an excellent problem solver, and exhibit A-level leadership qualities. The HO will oversee the delivery of all operational functions and will coordinate all departments.

    What you will do

    • Manage Chipper Technologies’ business delivery to ensure exceptional client service and a high-performing team, creating an optimal environment for the innovation, strategy, and growth functions for Chipper Technologies
    • Provide coordination, direct line management of the day to day operations, and ultimate oversight of teams
    • Support the development and sustainability of high-performing team spirit, and encourage and sustain an ethos of client-centricity in service delivery
    • Contribute to the leadership in the Chipper management team, acting as second in command to the Managing Director
    • Operate as Officer-in-Charge when the Managing Director is unavailable
    • Independently and/ or as directed by the Managing Director, prepare board reports on business operations, organization/teams and periodic performances of the company
    • Lead Chipper’s organisation and operations, including legal, professional development and HR to support and grow a vibrant high-performing team and strong organisation capable of scaling and succeeding in a competitive fintech market space
    • Ensure that systems and processes are in place to promote and emphasize high performance across staff, including building Chipper’s culture of a fun, vibrant, and energetic workplace
    • Implement performance management systems towards fair appraisal and strong employee engagement and professional development
    • Anticipate and mitigate operational risks and oversee compliance with policies, procedures and legal requirements, including coordinating with pertinent external stakeholders

    What we are looking for in you

    • Substantial (4+ years’) experience successfully managing client service business operations in a fintech start-up or financial services company context, latterly as Head of Business / Deputy Director/ COO or equivalent level
    • Strong organization-level operational skills and experience, successfully deployed in the following functions: Client service, project management, team/HR, finance, and legal
    • Demonstrable interest in or commitment to fintech and financial inclusion in a for-profit company in Africa
    • Successful track-record working for innovative, adaptive organisations that seek continual improvement in efficiency, quality, and organisational management towards enhanced creation of business value
    • Strong people management and inter-personal skills to seek and bring out the best in a young, ambitious, energetic team
    • Ability to strive for consensus and compromise and settle interests between the interests of different parts of an organisation
    • Commitment to delivering high-quality services to clients, on time and exceeding expectations
    • Willingness to adapt, adjust, and innovate in a fast-growing and evolving fintech space externally, and innovation internally
    • MBA preferred
